From what age should we take care of our skin?

The question we are asked the most every day along with what routine we should follow for our skin.

The skin is the largest organ in the body and, at the same time, the one most exposed to external agents. Therefore, it is important to take care of it from an early age to keep it healthy and young for as long as possible.

Note down the most important functions of our skin:

  • Protect ourselves from external agents, such as the sun, cold, pollution, etc.
  • Regulate body temperature.
  • Help absorb nutrients and eliminate toxins.
  • Feel the touch and the pain.

But…. At what age should we start skin care?

Although experts agree that the ideal age to start taking care of your skin is from 25 years old, the truth is that you can start earlier, even from adolescence.

After the age of 25, the skin begins to lose collagen and elastin, which results in a decrease in the elasticity and firmness of the skin. The sun, pollution and even those nights without removing makeup begin to take their toll. It's time to establish a basic routine! A gentle cleanser, good hydration and sunscreen are your new BFFs. Oh, and don't forget to drink water like it's your job.

Over time, it will be important to start using skin care products that help delay signs of aging and oxidation, incorporating serums, antiaging creams and more intensive treatment masks into your daily routine. It will also be important to explore new products and treatments for your skin's needs in each season and period of life.

Always remember that prevention is the key, and your skin will thank you later. Skin care is a long-term investment in your health and beauty. The sooner you start taking care of your skin, the more benefits you will get.

Your skin, your history, your beauty!

Soon we will talk to you about the basic steps that your skin care routine should include…
